Once deemed too weak and fragile to run, women fought hard for their rightful place at the starting line – not officially being accepted into marathons in the USA until 1972. Prior to that, women got creative – disguising their bodies in over-sized sweatshirts, entering races using their initials to avoid being noticed as female, or jumping in after the starting gun went off.
We celebrate these women and honor their efforts with this cozy sweatshirt. It’s the perfect post-run or rest day piece, comfy and warm, featuring raised velvety flocked lettering that pays homage to the 1970s. Unbelievably soft. Sweatshirt reads, “Not too weak and fragile to run. Est. 1972.”
